We know the rhythm of life. God breathes into us, then we exhale and come to life. God sets the rhythms of our living. God gives us strength for enjoying the day and doing good, then gives us rest in the nighttime. Breathing in and breathing out; being awake and resting in sleep. What a wondrous arrangement!
Vital congregations follow this rhythm. We work, we pray. We act, we reflect. We speak, we listen. We engage, we wait. We move forward, we pause to ponder.
One might say that the pandemic that we endured these past 15 months was a major disruption. Church leaders made many adjustments; things were changed to meet our “new reality.” We adapted, not without significant investment. Thankfully, we are nearing the end of “pandemic season.”
